Sales solutions – a new resourcing model

   Background

Cynergy Recruitment had worked with our client, a global liquor company,  for 3 years on a transactional preferred supplier panel basis. Whilst our level of service and candidate quality was above other suppliers, our client was facing significant recruitment issues.

Cost pressures caused by a lack of appropriate budgeting and the fact our client was using a number of suppliers thereby limiting a volume discount, meant that our client was trying to recruit most roles themselves. They were having difficulty recruiting the right calibre of sales staff to meet their objectives and with line managers responsible for recruitment, the sales management team was over-burdened with managing a full recruitment process whilst still trying to deliver on their already challenging sales objectives.

Cynergy Recruitment proposed a resourcing solution to overcome these issues and deliver improved quality, efficiency and value.

Objectives

Our objective was to design and deliver a process which:
  • Provided a stream of high calibre candidates
  • Reduced total recruitment costs, managed within a set budget
  • Achieved acceptable vacancy rates and minimised the time to fill
  • Minimised management input
  • Projected an image of our client as the employer of choice in the Liquor industry


Solution

In a true partnership with our client’s HR and Sales teams, we developed a process to deliver the highest quality of candidates, moving from a standard transactional recruitment model to an exclusive resourcing contract. Key components of the solution included:

  • Exclusive management of all external recruitment needs working to a set budget for a set number of assignments
  • Monthly retainer to not only recruit individual roles as required, but to continuously and proactively search the market and build a talent bank for future roles.
  • Dedicated recruitment consultants working closely with the sales team to truly understand culture and requirements

Key Results

In the 18 months Cynergy Recruitment achieved the following results:

  • Candidate Quality - 2.8 interviews per placement, 67% of candidates promoted over 3 years, 91% retention rate
  • Recruitment costs – reduced cost per placement to $8,333 (10.4% of av TEC $80K)
  • Vacancy rates – average 1.8%
  • Total Time to Fill – reduced average to 15 days (from briefing to candidate acceptance)


Commentary

During the life of the contract we have been flexible enough to make a number of significant changes to the process in order to meet the changing circumstances of our client whilst delivering exceptional service to KPI.
